Tapestry – Mixed Media on Heavy Linen
This tapestry is created on heavy-weight linen and entirely hand-finished. Its surface combines hand painting, metallic leaf, and sculptural relief: the golden hand is built over a layer of gesso, creating a textured three-dimensional effect that shifts with the changing light.
The composition explores the relationship between the human figure and materiality. A profile with closed eyes intersects with a hand that simultaneously conceals, protects, and reveals. Fluorescent lines create visual tension, separating the drawing from the tactile surface of the linen, while the metallic finish brings a changing presence that is never perceived in quite the same way twice.
