Vestigios (Traces)

In Vestigios, the textile surface brings together traces of a fragmented landscape: plant forms, lines, and patches of color overlap across vivid areas and darker passages. Coral, orange, and ochre coexist with black, while metallic textile fragments introduce glimmers and relief that shift with the light.

The work begins with the artist’s own image printed on cotton, subsequently worked over with hand painting and textile collage. Each intervention transforms the initial image, covering, revealing, and adding material. The fabric thus becomes an archive of gestures, where the different stages of the process remain visible.

The title refers to what endures after a transformation: fragments, marks, and traces that find new relationships across the surface.

A large-scale textile work measuring approximately 310 × 150 cm.
