Nocturnal Paradise
Nocturnal Paradise is a large-scale textile artwork that explores the relationship between vegetation, color, and materiality within an imagined landscape. The composition begins with an original print on velvet, then is individually hand-finished with painting and metallic textile collage, adding layers of luminosity, texture, and depth.
The softness of the velvet contrasts with the reflective quality of the metallic textiles, which respond to changing light and continually transform the viewer's experience. Through these hand-applied interventions, the work moves beyond the printed image, bringing together the languages of contemporary textile art and painting.
Each artwork is individually hand-finished by Jimena Palacios, making every piece one of a kind.
