Threshold

 

Threshold is a large-scale textile artwork developed through multiple layers of process. The image is first printed on corduroy fabric and then hand-finished with painting and textile collage, creating a rich surface where texture, color, and material interact.

 

The work explores the relationship between the printed image and the unique gesture of manual intervention. The softness and depth of the corduroy are enhanced by painted passages and applied textile fragments, placing the piece somewhere between contemporary textile art and painting.

 

Each artwork is individually hand-finished by Jimena Palacios
